Looking Back on a Year of Change

It has now been a year since I began creating Lavie edit. Over the past twelve months, I have taken time to reflect, make changes, reconsider my outlook and embrace new experiences. much has shifted during this time, while other changes are still unfolding and will come in their own time.

Like many of you, I am still on a journey of self-discovery—learning as I go and gradually understanding what truly matters to me.

The Purpose Behind Lavie edit

When I first created Lavie edit, I wanted it to be a space where people could discover new perspectives through a voice that felt honest, thoughtful and relatable. It was never intended to criticise or dictate who anyone should become.

My hope has always been to encourage acceptance—of who you are and where you are in your journey—while reminding you that growth can begin from exactly where you stand.

Growth is not instantaneous. It requires time, patience, love and intention.

Somewhere along the way, however, I began to feel that everything I published needed to be perfect. Every idea had to be fully formed, every word carefully chosen and every post worthy of being seen. What began as care for my work gradually became hesitation; the more I worried about getting it right, the harder it became to share anything at all.

I am learning that creativity cannot flourish beneath the constant demand for perfection. Lavie edit was never meant to present a flawless life. It was created to document the honest, unfinished process of living, learning and becoming.

At the same time, life asked me to slow down in a far more personal way.

For a while, I felt the need to step away from Lavie edit and focus more fully on my family, particularly following the loss of my dear grandfather, Papa, who passed away unexpectedly in March. His death affected me deeply and profoundly changed the way I viewed life.

As I sat with my grief, I began to understand that although he was no longer physically present, his spirit remained in everything he had loved, valued and cherished—and within all of us who loved him.

In the weeks that followed, I devoted much of my energy to supporting my family and doing what I believed was best for them during an incredibly difficult time. I am grateful that I was able to be there for them, but I also came to realise that I had begun neglecting parts of my own life that still deserved to be nurtured.

My sense of purpose shifted. With time, I understood that losing someone does not mean our own lives must stop. My grandfather may be gone, but I remain, and my family remain with me.

Moving forward does not mean leaving him behind. I have learnt that embracing life, continuing to grow and making the most of the time we have can be one of the most meaningful ways to honour those we have lost.

And so, I move forward—not perfectly, but intentionally.

Lavie edit continues to grow alongside me. This next chapter is not about reinventing everything or erasing what came before. It is about returning to what the website was always intended to be: a place for honest reflection, meaningful ideas and the freedom to evolve.

Lavie edit 2.0 means creating with greater openness, sharing before everything feels perfect and trusting that there is value in allowing ourselves to be seen while we are still becoming.

I do not return with all the answers or a perfectly completed story. I return simply as I am: still learning, still evolving and ready for the next chapter.
